Eyes Like Fire: A Reflection on Art, Faith, and Growth

This painting gets its name from a reference to Jesus in Revelation where he's described as having hair white as wool, eyes like fire, and a double-edged sword coming out of his mouth. This image of Jesus is something that I've seen myself through prayer and meditation. When I drew this design it had this eye shape in the middle of it, and it kind of had this fiery feel to the painting, so that's why I called it Eyes Like Fire.

The inspiration for this painting comes from the number two, which is a number that represents unity or union. I feel like this one is the simplest painting I've ever done. There's not a lot of complexity in the shapes, but you can see a lot of growth in this one compared to the first one. The lines are cleaner, the shapes are more consistent in their sizes, the symmetry is much tighter, and the colors are much closer to what I wanted them to be. They're blended a lot better and things look a lot cleaner with this one.
